To give our hard-working team some much-needed rest, Mivet will be closed from December 24, 2022 and will reopen on January 3, 2023. During this holiday period, we have partnered with VetCheck 24/7 to assist in delivering our ongoing care. Just contact our clinic on (02) 6914 9111 and a qualified vet nurse will be able to assist you.
From the whole team at Mivet, we wish you a safe and happy holiday and look forward to seeing you again in the New Year!
Dr. Alastair Hayward Graduated from the veterinary school at the University of Queensland in 1992. Since graduating he has undertaken veterinary work in a wide range of species including Dogs, cats, cattle, sheep, horses, deer and more recently exotic species through work at Altina Wildlife Park. Alastair has been in his own practice since 1997 in Yea, Victoria and moved with his family to Narrandera in 2006 to take on the Narrandera Veterinary Clinic.
While the veterinary practice is his work life, outside of this Alastair enjoys the thrills of Mountain biking. He is also active in community service having help design and develop the Narrandera Bike and Hike project. He has also taken on the role of Captain for the Euroley Rural Fire Brigade. If time permits he enjoys tinkering in the shed, usually building projects.
Cathy Meyer is a qualified nurse with her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and over 15 years’ experience in the industry. She moved to Leeton with her husband in September 2017 and is enjoying being a part of the team at Mivet.
She loves all creatures great and small (except maybe for spiders…) In her spare time, Cathy has recently taken up bird watching and is enjoying learning about the many different species of birds in the Riverina area. She also has an interest in nutrition and ran a Weightloss program at her last clinic using the Hills program.
Jordan has been a part of the team here at Mivet since January 2018.
Jordan is currently completing her Bachelor in Veterinary Science. She is very interested in the diagnostic side of the job and learning from the rest of the team.
Outside of work, she lives with two very active dogs who keep her busy and love to go to the river for a swim.
Kasey joined the Mivet team June 2019 when she was offered a job, which she gladly took, after completing high school work experience.
Kasey enjoys working at Mivet because she gets to meet so many new animals and people every day and gets to help them out as much as she can.
When not at school or work, Kasey enjoys participating in sports, especially netball which she plays GS and GA. She also enjoys playing with her dog Charlie Brown and taking him for walks.
Our resident meet, greet and sniffer, Ricky loves to spend his days here at the clinic making sure all the other patients have a little buddy.
Oh…and keeping the nurses laps warm.
Outside of work, Ricky lives for running – with built in springs it’s tough to keep this little guy still.
